Job summary

L.O. Eye Care in East Lansing area is hiring a full-time Ophthalmic Assistant at our Okemos location. You will gather patient history, guide tests, administer eye drops, and document results to support providers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• OMA Certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
• No prior experience required; experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Gather and record patients' chief complaints and ocular history to start care.
• Explain tests and procedures to patients to reduce anxiety.
• Administer eye drops and medications as prescribed.
• Document measurements and tests (Visual Acuity, ARK, Lensometry, Visual Fields, OCT, IOL Master/A-scan).
• Support patient flow and assist other clinic areas as needed.
• Maintain a clean, stocked clinic ready for patient care and operations.
• Monitor equipment and report issues to the Clinical Manager.
• Adapt to new technologies and provider needs as they arise.
