Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Longview, TX is seeking an ophthalmic scribe to support daily patient care and ophthalmology workflow. You will assist the physician, collect histories, and educate patients while maintaining a safe, efficient clinic environment.

Required: High School Diploma, 2 years of ophthalmology experience, BLS. COA certification must be obtained within 6–12 months; OSC certification preferred. Work schedule is 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, full time.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 2 years experience in ophthalmology clinic setting.
• BLS certification required.
• COA certification must be obtained within 6 months to a year from hire date.
• Ophthalmic Scribe Certification (OSC) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promptly assist the doctor in patient care, collecting patient history, and patient education.
• Accurately perform technical workups: visual acuity, keratometry, keratometry, OCT, pachymetry and other tests as directed by the physician.
• Communicate follow-up care, surgeries, procedures, schedule changes, symptoms and surgery scheduling to patients.
• Perform administrative duties as assigned.
