Job summary

Cleveland Clinic's Main Campus is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant to support the Ophthalmologist with clinical and administrative tasks. You will assist with direct patient care, ensuring patients are comfortable during appointments and exams, and help maintain a welcoming environment for Cleveland Clinic patients daily.

A caregiver works days from 7:30am to 4:00pm, with responsibilities including patient preparation, examination support, documentation, and room/equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• One year of experience in an ophthalmic setting providing direct patient care OR formal education or training in Ophthalmology

Responsibilities

• Receive and prepare patients for examination or treatment.
• Perform clinical and technical ophthalmic duties for high acuity patient populations, including those admitted to the hospital and/or with critical patient care needs.
• Perform routine screening tests as needed.
• Document patient information in the patient medical record.
• Perform stocking, maintenance and other duties, including maintaining exam rooms, equipment and supplies.
