Job summary

The role involves performing tests (OCT, visual fields, photography, pachymetry, biometry), taking histories, and acting as a medical scribe to ensure accurate records. Occasional travel may be required to other locations based on business needs.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Graduate or GED; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• OA1/OAII experience: 0-2 years ophthalmic assistant; 2+ years ophthalmic assistant experience.
• Strong attention to detail, patient care, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Review patient charts for completeness and accuracy.
• Take ocular and systemic history and record visual acuity.
• Perform tests such as OCT, automated visual fields, photography, pachymetry, and biometry.
• Scribe for physician and enter data into EMR or paper charts.
• Administer topical or oral medications and support patient education.
• Oversee patient flow and maintain exam room cleanliness.
• Ensure adherence to procedures and compliance; report errors.
• Maintain positive attitude and professionalism.
