NJRetina, part of Prism Vision Group, in Jersey City, NJ, seeks an Ophthalmic Assistant for an onsite role to support physicians with testing, documentation, and patient care. Occasional travel to other locations may occur.

The role requires accuracy, reliability, and strong communication skills to manage patient flow and assist with education and safety protocols. Prior ophthalmic experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• OA1 Experience: 0-2 years ophthalmic assistant experience.
• OAII Experience: 2+ years ophthalmic assistant experience

Responsabilités

• Reviews patient charts to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Takes ocular and systemic history and records visual acuity.
• Performs OCT, automated visual fields, photography, pachymetry, biometry.
• Performs lensometry, automated refractometry, slit lamp exam with tonometry and anterior chamber angle assessment.
• Acts as scribe and enters data into EMR or paper charts.
• Administers topical ophthalmic or oral medications and assists with patient education.
• Oversees patient flow and maintains exam rooms cleanliness.
• Complies with practice procedures and regulations.
