Job summary

Fogg Remington EyeCare is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant (Level 1) to support ophthalmologists and optometrists in a busy clinic in California. The role involves patient intake, vision testing, and assisting with minor procedures, with a focus on accuracy and patient experience.

The OA will handle medical records, perform tests such as visual acuity and color vision, and maintain a positive, compliant patient environment in line with FRE standards.

Qualifications

• Require a high school diploma or GED.
• Preferred: Medical Assistant program.
• Healthcare experience, especially in ophthalmology, is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Gather information about the patient’s primary concern and record it in medical records.
• Perform vision tests and assist with ophthalmic examinations.
• Administer eye drops and conduct basic ocular assessments.
• Maintain organized medical records and assist with scribing/coding for clinicians.
