Job summary

Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls, MN is hiring an Ophthalmic Assistant to greet and room patients, assess eye and vision care needs, gather histories, perform tests and administer eye drops. The role requires CPR certification, ophthalmology training or equivalent experience, and proficiency in documentation in the EMR.

Hours: 64 Biweekly, day shifts, Monday–Friday; hourly wage range $18.80–$24.48 with final compensation based on experience.

Qualifications

• Education/Special Skills: Training as ophthalmology assistant or 1-year comparable experience; Certification preferred; basic math, and keyboard/typing skills. Proficient and professional communication, both verbal and written. This position requires current Healthcare Provider level CPR certification upon hire or must be obtained within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Greet and room patients and identify their eye and vision care needs.
• Gather patient histories and perform testing.
• Administer eye drops and carry out physician orders accurately.
• Document everything in the electronic medical record.
