Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking a Team Lead for the OPEX/production cell to build engineered HVAC equipment and lead daily manufacturing operations on site. The role emphasizes LEAN practices, safety, and cross-team collaboration to meet production demands.

The candidate should bring manufacturing leadership experience, proficiency with Microsoft Office, strong problem-solving ability, and excellent communication skills. Wilingness to work overtime and across departments is required.

Responsibilities

• Build engineered HVAC equipment and lead a work cell using standard work processes.
• Promote and adhere to LEAN guidelines.
• Maintain team build standards and coordinate with other teams.
• Follow station standards and processes.
• Document daily activities with takt tracker and station boards.
• Submit required paperwork and reporting on time.
• Collaborate with purchasing and materials personnel.
• Support initiatives to improve the business.
• Work with technicians, other leads, engineering, quality and safety teams.
• Attend and/or lead team meetings with management as needed.
• Adhere to company standards for build, quality, values and behaviors.
• Follow safety policies and demonstrate proactive behavior.
• Demonstrate leadership and effective communication.
• Flexibility for overtime/weekends and cross-department work.

What's In It For You

• The OPEX Team Lead role is responsible for continuous improvement projects, building engineered HVAC units and ensuring their production assembly cell is actively engaged to meet daily customer demand and production schedule.
• The Team Lead provides effective training to the department employees and ensures safety and quality standards are always maintained.

What You Will Do

• Responsible to build engineered HVAC equipment utilizing equipment, standard work processes, work content for a specified area and lead a work cell
• Promote and adhere to LEAN guidelines.
• Is responsible for maintaining his/her team build standards and to work with other teams to accomplish this.
• Follows the standards and processes set for that specific station.
• Documents daily activities by completing takt tracker, station boards, and other standard documents as necessary
• Turns in all required paperwork and reporting in a timely manner.
• Effectively works with purchasing and materials personnel.
• Assists with initiatives as needed, helping to improve the business.
• Works closely with other technicians, other team leads, engineering, quality and safety teams in a team environment, offering insight, status information, and other support as needed.
• Attends, contributes to, and/or leads meetings with team members and management as needed.
• Follows company standards for build, quality, values and behaviors
• Follows company safety policies.
• Demonstrate positive and proactive behavior.
• Demonstrate good leadership skills, including communicating effectively with others.
• Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required.
• Flexibility to occasionally work in other company departments when needed.

• Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to use a tape measure.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Valid driver's license.
