Job summary

Eaton Corporation in Puerto Rico is seeking an Opex Lean Engineer to drive continuous improvement across the plant using Lean tools and value-stream mapping. You will lead Kaizen events, develop schedules, train personnel, consolidate OEE data, and support the plant’s Lean maturity with strong leadership and data-based decisions.

This role reports to the ES AMER PCS organization and requires collaboration with Supervisors and Manufacturing Engineers while upholding Eaton’s ethics and safety

Qualifications

  • Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • English: conversational advanced.
  • Minimum experience: At least three years experience in Continuous Improvement and Lean tools.

Responsibilities

Job description

Eaton’s ES AMER PCS division is currently seeking a Opex Lean Engineer.

What you’ll do:
  • Identifies and implements strategies to improve productivity through Continuous Improvement initiatives and Lean tools.
Essential Functions:
  • Perform Lean tools trainings
  • Execute VSM events for plant and processes
  • Develop Lean Kaizen events schedule and support implementation
  • Consolidate OEE and provide improvement opportunities per process
  • Support Command Center /iObeya systems
  • Submit status of Continuous Improvement initiatives to Divisional team
  • Kanban database management
  • Conduct / support Continuous Improvement events for the plant
  • Backup supervisor for Tool Room
  • Establish strategy for Lean maturity process
  • Train personnel as required
  • Complete Lean self‑assessment, Plant Maturity level and other reports to communicate to the Divisional Level
  • Coordinate or perform Operational Outstanding events
  • Support Continuous Improvement competencies development by supporting training plan
  • Interfaces with Supervisors and Manufacturing Engineers
  • Assures the company policies are met based on Eaton’s Philosophy and Code of Ethics
  • Must be a proactive, dynamic, high energy, results‑focused individual with strong leadership skills.
  • Ensure to apply the Eaton Leadership Model as part to the Continuous Improvement deployment and implementations.

  4. Completing Projects and documenting cost savings and completion schedules
  5. Initiates actions to prevent product non-conformance
  6. Complies with Deviation procedure
  7. Complies with monthly sales goal
  8. Customer satisfaction (Fill Rate, Stock Performance, Information Fill Rate, Non-Stock Performance)
  9. Scrap reduction
