JSW Steel Limited in Baytown, TX seeks a hands-on Water Systems Technician to maintain potable and wastewater systems, monitor parameters, and perform mechanical operations. The role offers full-time hours at our Baytown facility with a focus on reliability and safety.

The position requires a Water/Wastewater D license or the ability to obtain it within 6 months, plus forklift/backhoe capabilities or related heavy equipment experience. A self-motivated, attendance-focused candidate is essential.

Qualifications

• Must have or obtain Water and Wastewater D license within 6 months.
• Fundamental understanding of pumps, oil skimmers, sand filters and cooling towers.
• Must be able to operate forklift and backhoe; heavy equipment experience is a plus.
• Candidate to work with minimal supervision and maintain high attendance.

Responsibilities

• Implement water systems procedures to ensure uninterrupted availability.
• Ensure proper functioning of potable and wastewater systems.
• Operate mechanical equipment such as pumps, oil skimmers, raking system, sand filters.
• Monitor water system parameters, log data, and identify malfunctions.
• Handle housekeeping and grounds maintenance tasks as required.

Job description

• Water and wastewater D license is desirable or must have ability to obtain it within 6 months of joining
• Basic knowledge about the working of pumps, oil skimmers, sand filters, cooling towers
• Ability to operate a forklift and backhoe. Additional heavy duty operation ability is a plus
• Must be motivated to work with minimum supervision
• Maintain an exceptional level of attendance and punctuality

Responsibilities:

• Implement water systems related procedures to ensure uninterrupted availability of various water systems
• Responsible for proper functioning of the potable system and wastewater system
• Perform necessary work in operating mechanical equipment such as pumps, oil skimmers, raking system, sand filters
• Responsible for constant monitoring of the water system parameter, analyzing and logging of data, and identifying possible system malfunction
• Responsible for general housekeeping and grounds maintenance duties, including string trimming, debris removal, and related clean up tasks
