What you’ll do as a Pole/Anchor Operator

  • Participate in all phases of telecommunication construction, including loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal, and placement of various construction materials and equipment.
  • Drive and operate pole/bucket trucks to and from the jobsite.
  • Place utility poles.
  • Safely use hand tools and equipment such as wrenches, drills, ladders, lanyards, saws, lashers, climbing hooks, etc.
  • Operate mechanized equipment like bucket trucks, digger derricks, excavators, etc.
  • Set up safety perimeters with signage, cones, and barriers.
  • Flag traffic when required.
  • Understand separation and clearance regulations.
  • Work safely aloft using climbing hooks and ladders.

What you’ll need

  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. for our company.
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
  • Basic knowledge of and ability to operate utility trucks and equipment safely.
  • Ability to climb telephone poles and work in bucket trucks and at heights up to 40 feet.
  • Lift and carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs with assistance.
  • Previous construction experience, preferably in telecommunications.
  • Ability to perform duties such as pole transfers, maintenance builds, new builds, cable installation, over lash, and strand construction.

Physical abilities & exposures

  • Routine: Work alone in remote or confined spaces, operate vehicles and machinery, perform manual tasks, and work at heights, with vision requirements and potential exposure to dust, fumes, or airborne pathogens.
  • Occasional: Exposure to chemicals and moving machinery, with long hours of driving and sitting possible.

Salary Range: $20.00 to $24.00/hr (based on experience)
