TelCom Construction, LLC, in Des Moines, IA, is seeking a Telecom Drill Bores Operator to operate drill equipment for underground telecom cables and infrastructure.

The role is field-based and hourly, with responsibilities including determining bore paths, locating utilities, maintaining bore schedules, and performing site setup and routine equipment maintenance in all weather conditions.

Formación

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent work experience.
• Experience working with drilling equipment and understanding bore paths.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Valid driver's license required; CDL Class A with tanker endorsement preferred or willingness to obtain.

Responsabilidades

What you’ll do

• Determine bore path and locate utilities
• Safely operate and control all necessary equipment to complete assigned tasks
• Verify existing utilities by potholing to determine bore path
• Utilize "Mud" mixing systems
• Develop and maintain a bore schedule
• Responsible for site set-up, clean-up, and equipment maintenance
• Perform work in all weather conditions
• Other duties as assigned

What you’ll need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid state driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Valid Class A Commercial driver's license with tanker endorsement or willingness to obtain it
• Experience with drilling equipment, including their capabilities, limitations, and drill setup and design processes

Physical abilities & exposures

• Routinely: work with arms above shoulder level, in confined space and remote locations, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift greater than 55 pounds
• Occasionally: use ladder, keyboard and mouse
