Job Title: Machine Operator
Shift: Day: 1st Shift Monday- Friday

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- The Machine Operator will operate, perform maintenance, and adjust automated and semi-automated food equipment including: operating, cleaning, adjusting and maintaining processing/packaging machinery as needed to meet safety requirements, product standards and production goals.
- This role is responsible for assisting with the development of effective preventative maintenance tasks and routines. The person will diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, and test and make adjustments as needed.
- The Machine Operator requires understanding of mechanical and electronic controls, and how they interact in a multistep process. They will detect faulty operations, defective material, and escalate issues accordingly.
- Following all safety and GMP guidelines is mandatory. This position requires a technically skilled candidate with strong communication skills, working closely with Production, Quality Control, Maintenance, and Engineering to meet specifications and production goals.
- Responsible for changeovers, sanitation, and other duties as assigned to ensure effective equipment performance.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED, completion of a craft apprenticeship, or equivalent experience in production maintenance.
- 2+ years in manufacturing with mechanical and/or industrial skills.
- An AA degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance is a plus.
- Ability to read, write, perform basic math, and operate a computer.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and maintain good attendance.
Food Safety
- Prioritize food safety, quality, and sanitation in line with Thrive Food policies.
- Communicate any food safety concerns to leadership.
- Act as backup for Lead to ensure food safety and SQF requirements are met.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and fine finger dexterity.
- 50% or more walking and standing.
- Work environment includes temperature variations typical of a food manufacturing warehouse.
- Visual and auditory abilities are necessary for safety.
- Lifting to 30 lbs. required.
