Job summary

BARNES AEROSPACE, a division of Barnes Group, is seeking a skilled technician to set up and operate CNC Grinder, EDM or Laser machines in a safety-sensitive role based in Olde West Chester, Ohio.

You will monitor dimensions with precision tools, complete quality paperwork, and assemble components per customer orders while meeting deadlines and following FAA/DOT drug testing rules.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a production/shop position.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Safety sensitive role with FAA and DOT drug/alcohol testing rules.
• Ability to use basic math and follow simple instructions.

Responsibilities

Job description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Primary duties are to set-up and operate CNC Grinder, EDM or Laser machines ensuring parts conform to specification and requirements.
• Monitor parts dimensions using jigs, fixtures, gages, calipers, micrometers and height gages to assure conformity of parts.
• Complete paperwork required to document the quality of parts completed.
• Checks paperwork to determine required assembly and any special options.
• Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and sub-assemblies, per customer order.
• Uses precision measuring tools to check parts for correct fit and dimensions.
• Build electrodes for Fast Hole EDM

Qualifications:

• Able to use basic math to add, subtract, multiply or divide and may work with fractions, decimals or percentages
• Able to follow simple instructions or directions
• Able to communicate verbally and in writing as to work requirements, work in progress or work completion
• Ability to meet deadlines.

Education Requirements:

• Must have two years of experience in a production/shop position
• High school diploma or equivalent
