Job summary

BARNES AEROSPACE is seeking a production technician in Ohio to set up and operate CNC grinders, EDM or laser machines, ensuring parts meet specifications. You will monitor dimensions with calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other precision tools, complete required paperwork, and assemble components per customer orders while maintaining safety and quality standards.

A two-year production/shop background and a high school diploma are required; this is a safety-sensitive role with FAA/DOT

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a production/shop position.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC Grinder, EDM or Laser machines to ensure parts conform to specifications.
• Monitor parts dimensions using jigs, fixtures, gauges, calipers, micrometers and height gauges.
• Complete paperwork to document the quality of parts completed.
• Check paperwork to determine required assembly and any special options.
• Assemble components by inspecting connections for correct fit and fastening.
• Use precision measuring tools to verify correct fit and dimensions.
• Build electrodes for Fast Hole EDM.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Primary duties are to set-up and operate CNC Grinder, EDM or Laser machines ensuring parts conform to specification and requirements.
• Monitor parts dimensions using jigs, fixtures, gages, calipers, micrometers and height gages to assure conformity of parts.
• Complete paperwork required to document the quality of parts completed.
• Checks paperwork to determine required assembly and any special options.
• Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and sub-assemblies, per customer order.
• Uses precision measuring tools to check parts for correct fit and dimensions.
• Build electrodes for Fast Hole EDM

Qualifications:

• Able to use basic math to add, subtract, multiply or divide and may work with fractions, decimals or percentages.
• Able to follow simple instructions or directions.
• Able to communicate verbally and in writing as to work requirements, work in progress or work completion.
• Ability to meet deadlines.

Education Requirements:

• Must have two years of experience in a production/shop position.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
