Maryland Environmental Service (MES) has an opening for an entry level Operator-In-Training (OIT) or an experienced Water/Wastewater Operator at our Brown Station facility in Upper Marlboro, MD. The OIT is a 3-year program with on-the-job training, independent study, and mentoring.

Starting salary is $41,736.24 with periodic raises. MES offers comprehensive benefits and the chance to become a full MES operator after graduation.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements: HS Diploma or GED and a driver's license with fewer than 5 points.

Responsibilities

• Assist in operating, monitoring, and maintaining water, wastewater or industrial wastewater treatment systems.
• Be aware that MES facilities may operate 365 days a year and work may be required outside normal hours, including weekends or holidays.

Successful graduates of the program will be offered Operator positions with MES.
