Job summary

Eaton’s EPG CHD EP Americas division is seeking an Operator III in North Carolina to set up and operate automatic, semi-automatic, and manual machines shaping parts. You will study drawings to determine dimensions, observe operations, and adjust tooling as needed.

The role includes training others and supporting quality control and maintenance tasks. The position requires reading drawings, basic math, and use of measuring tools, with ITAR compliance and safety as priorities.

Qualifications

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, follow routers, and use basic math with handheld measuring tools.
  • 1 year experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • US person under ITAR regulations.
  • Stand for up to 8 hours; lift up to 35 lbs.

Responsibilities

Eaton’s EPG CHD EP Americas division is currently seeking a Operator III.

The hourly rate for this position is $21.90 per hour.

What You’ll Do
PRIMARY FUNCTION:

This position is responsible for the set up and operation of various types of automatic, semi-automatic, and manual machines used to shape parts.

Essential Functions
  • Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, and sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece or setup requirements
  • Sets up, starts, and observes machine operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and troubleshoots or adjusts machine controls as required
  • Operates a variety of machines as directed by supervisor or lead
  • Provide training and programming support on production jobs
  • Understand quality control process of inspection sheets and non-conforming material, and investigate quality problems relative to machining
  • Use hand tools and various measuring devices including micrometers and calipers
  • Adjust tooling and existing programs as necessary for machines
  • Perform preventative maintenance on machinery such as oiling and cleaning
  • Trains other operators as needed
  • Perform other duties as required
Qualifications
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, follow routers, and use simple math to perform basic calculations, and use handheld measuring tools
  • 1 year experience in Manufacturing setting
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applications must be US persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a US person as a US Citizen, US Permanent Resident (i.e. “Green Card Holder”), Political Asylee, or Refugee
  • Remain standing for an extended period of time up to 8 hours
  • Able to lift to 35 lbs. on a regular basis
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2-5 years experience in a manufacturing setting
  • 2 year technical degree from an accredited educational institute or technical certificate from a college/trade school such as a Journeyman certification
