Job summary

Eaton is seeking an Operator III in North Carolina to set up and operate various machines shaping parts. You will read blueprints, monitor tolerances, troubleshoot issues, and ensure quality standards are met in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities include training other operators, adjusting tooling, performing preventive maintenance, and applying measurement tools like micrometers and calipers. This on-site role requires standing for long periods and lifting up to 35 lbs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year experience in manufacturing.
  • Ability to read drawings and follow routers.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and perform basic math.
  • ITAR compliance requires US person status.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, starts, and observes machine operations to meet tolerances.
  • Study blueprints and determine dimensions for finished workpieces.
  • Troubleshoot machines and adjust controls as required.
  • Operate a variety of machines as directed by supervisor.
  • Provide training and programming support on production jobs.
  • Understand quality control processes and non-conforming materials.
  • Use hand tools and measuring devices including micrometers and calipers.
  • Adjust tooling and existing programs as necessary.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on machinery.
  • Train other operators as needed.

Eaton’s EPG CHD EP Americas division is currently seeking a Operator III.The hourly rate for this position is $21.90 per hour.Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.What you’ll do:PRIMARY FUNCTION:This position is responsible for the set up and operation of various types of automatic, semi-automatic, and manual machines used to shape parts.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1. Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, and sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece or setup requirements2. Sets up, starts, and observes machine operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and troubleshoots or adjusts machine controls as required3. Operates a variety of machines as directed by supervisor or lead4. Provide training and programming support on production jobs5. Understand quality control process of inspection sheets and non-conforming material, and investigate quality problems relative to machining6. Use hand tools and various measuring devices including micrometers and calipers7. Adjust tooling and existing programs as necessary for machines8. Perform preventative maintenance on machinery such as oiling and cleaning9. Trains other operators as needed10. Perform other duties as requiredQualifications:BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:1. Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship2. High school diploma or equivalent3. Ability to communicate effectively4. Ability to read and interpret drawings, follow routers, and use simple math to perform basic calculations, and use handheld measuring tools5. 1 year experience in Manufacturing setting6. This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Remain standing for an extended period of time up to 8 hours8.
