Summary of the Position:

Operates machines to make products, inspects parts, assists the line leader, and acquires supplies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform quality inspection on molding machines, verify dimensions, and make necessary adjustments to maintain specified tolerances, ensuring high-quality output.
  • Verify and complete job orders, submit orders for closure on SAP, and post produced parts to inventory, ensuring accurate documentation of production processes.
  • Reference work instructions and review print specifications to determine accurate materials and set-up, meeting production requirements and minimizing downtime.
  • Advise supervisors of quality problems and job status, facilitating quick resolution of issues to maintain high standards of product quality.
  • Collaborate with production personnel, other operators, supervisors, and engineering staff to troubleshoot problems and ensure smooth production flow.
  • Accurately supervise and dispose of scrap, complete non-conforming tickets, and reduce waste, improving cost efficiency.
  • Ensure accountability for the quality and rework of products in their cell, encouraging a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Read job specifications from the Production Record to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
  • Observe machine operation, make adjustments as needed, and perform in-process testing.
  • Maintain all required documentation in accordance with the Work Instructions.
  • Assist Set-Up person with machine setup, basket emptying, cleaning, and changeover preparation.
  • Notify Lead Operator of equipment or product issues and address issues affecting product quality.
  • Spread product as required and assist with cleanup and other Production duties as needed.
Qualifications

Individuals must perform essential duties satisfactorily, upholding company standards including integrity, motivation, dependability, reliability, confidentiality, cooperation, and respect.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent experience.

Experience

Required: 3-5 years of experience in medical environment companies with good documentation practices.

Preferred: Previous work experience in injection molding manufacturing, operations, production, or lab settings.

Language Skills

Ability to read and understand simple instructions, safety rules, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Other Skills and Abilities

Ability to use measuring instruments and simple hand tools. Ability to be attentive to tasks and follow management directives.

Special Requirements

Basic proficiency in Word, Excel, and SAP systems is desirable.

Work Environment

The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and may be exposed to vibration and wet or humid indoor conditions. The noise level is moderate to loud.
