Job summary

Sirio Nutrition California LLC is seeking a Machine Operator I to learn and perform the basics of Softgel Encapsulation Machine operations on-site in California. You will operate encapsulation machines, monitor dryers, maintain batch records, and help ensure product quality and safety.

This entry- to mid-level role emphasizes training, adherence to cGMP, and accurate documentation, with opportunities to contribute to training efforts and maintain a clean, compliant workspace.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6-months experience in an FDA regulated industry.
  • Ability to learn and perform basics of Softgel Encapsulation Machine operations.
  • Ability to lift 40-50 lbs and work in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities

  • Machine Operation and Maintenance: Learn the basic operation of Softgel Encapsulation Machines; operate machines and dryers; monitor processes and adjust as needed.
  • Production Support: Spread softgels on trays, set up equipment, stir medicines, and start gels as instructed.
  • Training and Documentation: Train teammates on spreading, changeovers, and cleaning; maintain batch records and logs.
  • Cleaning and Safety: Clean rooms and equipment; follow SOPs and safety rules; keep workspace clean.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other tasks assigned by Leads or Supervisors as needed.

We seek out innovation across our entire business and pass that knowledge and expertise to our customers.As a Machine Operator I, this is an entry- to mid-level position focused on learning and performing the basics of Softgel Encapsulation Machine operations. The role is able to run one type of Softgel product, spreading it onto trays for drying, and ensuring product quality. The Machine Operator I is responsible for operating, maintaining, and monitoring equipment while keeping the workspace clean and organized. Additionally, the role supports training efforts and adheres to company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.How will you contribute:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Essential job functions and duties include, but are not limited to:Machine Operation and Maintenance:Learn the basic operation of Softgel Encapsulation Machines.Operate Softgel Encapsulation Machines, Batch Dryer Baskets, and Continuous Dryer Baskets.Maintain mineral oil levels for Softgel Encapsulation Machines.Monitor processes and equipment, making necessary adjustments to maintain batch record specifications.Check the quality of encapsulated softgels and those coming out of drying baskets, stopping and reporting defects when necessary.Report malfunctioning machine parts or irregularities to Lead/Supervisor during production runs or changeovers.Production Support:Spread softgels on trays after the tumble dryer.Maintain a supply of tray paper and empty trays at the back of the dryer.Set up equipment for processing operations.Stir medicines according to batch record instructions.Perform gel/medicine changes and start gel and medicine on softgel Encapsulation Machines.Dispose of gelatin netting.Training and Documentation:Train employees on softgel spreading, changeovers, cleaning, and machine monitoring.Ensure batch records, equipment logbooks, and other relevant records are accurate and up-to-date.Cleaning and Safety:Clean processing rooms and equipment as needed.Maintain equipment, machines, and the workplace clean and presentable at all times.Follow established SOPs, cGMP regulations, and batch record instructions.Comply with company policies and safety rules, ensuring a safe work environment.Additional Duties:Perform other duties related to the job as assigned by Leads, Supervisors, or Management.Cleaning Procedures:Deep CleaningDisassemble and clean pump, die roll, spreader, and tumblers.Clean individual parts, room, and equipment.Soft Cleaning:Perform as needed.Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalent GED Certificate; and/orMinimum 6-months experience in an FDA regulated industry; orAny combination of experience, education, and training that provides the level of knowledge, skills, and experience needed to successfully perform the job.Work Environment:May involve exposure to allergens such as Soy, Wheat, Fish, Shellfish, Milk, Egg, Tree Nuts and Sesame.Lifting limitations for this position: 40-50 lbs. May have to manipulate heavier containers.Noise level for this work environment is typically moderate to high.
