Job summary

Progress Rail in Sherman, TX, is seeking an qualified machinist/CNC operator to manufacture railroad components. You will run CNC machinery, measure parts for conformance, and support overhead crane operations in a fast-paced production environment.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of CNC experience, with strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years machinist/CNC experience.
• Ability to multitask and work with minimum supervision.
• Must be able to read and write legibly and complete production reports with accuracy.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to inspect rail using measuring devices.
• Must be quality oriented and a team player.
• Must have complete understanding of safe work practices.
• Must be able to meet the requirements of post-offer drug test, medical review and criminal history review of misdemeanor and/or felony convictions.

Responsibilities

• Operating CNC machines to machine parts and rail according to specifications as part of the manufacturing process of railroad track and turnout assemblies;
• Use measuring devices to determine accuracy and to mark all rail accordingly;
