Job summary

Progress Rail in Lincoln, NE is seeking a manufacturing operator for the 2nd shift to run CNC Lathes, Band Saw, and Mills. You will also finish grind, inspect parts to AAR specs, and document daily production data.

This role requires basic math, use of precision gauges like micrometers, and working safely in a self-directed, team-based environment. Competitive benefits apply, with shift differential for 2nd shift.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC Lathes, Band Saw, Mills, Electroplate Axles, Finish Grinding, and Quality Inspections.
• Produce parts for the railroad industry per AAR specs and customer requirements.
• Complete daily production reports and inspect equipment.
• Work in a self-directed, team-based environment and follow safety policies.
• Operate overhead cranes and use precision gauges as required.

Key Job Elements

LINCOLN NEBRASKA AXEL SHOP

• 2nd Shift position (3:00 pm-11:30 pm, Monday thru Friday); $1.50hr 2nd shift dif.;
• Overtime as required;
• Operate CNC Lathes, Band Saw, Mills, Electroplate Axles, Finish Grinding, Precision Measurements and Quality Inspections;
• Produce parts for the railroad industry in accordance with AAR, customer specifications, company guidelines and checklists;
• Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with PRS safety policies;
• Monitor work to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements;
• Operate hand tools including buffers, sanders, and grinders to railroad axles;
• Use precision gauges and instruments such as micrometers;
• Complete daily production reports and perform daily inspection of equipment;
• Demonstrate the ability to work in a self-directed team-based environment;
• Perform all duties and responsibilities within time standards allowed;
• Operate overhead cranes;
• Other duties as assigned.

Education / Training

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
