Job summary

Van Drunen Family of Companies is hiring for a custodial/janitorial role on 1st shift (7:00 AM–5:00 PM, Monday–Friday) in Manteno, IL. Expected pay range is $20.15–$22.20 per hour with potential supplemental compensation based on performance metrics.

Responsibilities include cleaning, sanitation, operating floor equipment, and maintaining logs. Requires at least 1 year of custodial experience and a high school diploma; valid driver’s license and reliable transport are preferred.

Qualifications

• At least one year of custodial, janitorial, or related experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and work with cleaning chemicals responsibly.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to complete tasks independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel between local facilities as needed.
• Basic English communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.

• Perform cleaning and sanitation tasks across the facility to maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized environment.
• Operate equipment such as cardboard balers and riding floor scrubbers to support daily cleaning routines.
• Follow established cleaning schedules, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and surface sanitation.
• Monitor facility conditions and report maintenance or repair needs to supervisors in a timely manner.
• Maintain cleaning supplies, organize equipment, and ensure proper use of cleaning materials and safety signage.
• Empty trash, replenish restroom supplies, and maintain accurate cleaning logs and documentation.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
• Regular lifting or handling of equipment and materials up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to push or pull cleaning equipment and perform repetitive motions.
• Required use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, hearing protection, eye protection, and head protection.
• Work performed in a warehouse environment with varying conditions, and ability to meet all physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodation.
