Job summary

Van Drunen Farms is hiring a full-time janitorial associate to maintain cleanliness and safety across facilities in Illinois. The role requires a solid safety mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to work with minimal supervision while collaborating with a team.

No prior experience is necessary, but 3–6 months in janitorial or sanitation is preferred; strong communication and organizational skills are valued. The schedule runs weekdays, with attainable weekend coverage as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of offices, restrooms, break areas, locker rooms, hand wash stations, warehouse spaces, and other common areas.
• Sweep, mop, remove debris, clean spills, sanitize surfaces, wash windows, and follow schedules.
• Support food safety, quality, and audit requirements by completing supplemental cleaning tasks.
• Maintain accurate cleaning records and logs; ensure tasks are completed per standards.
• Monitor and replenish sanitation supplies and PPE as needed.
• Safely use cleaning chemicals and follow safety protocols to maintain a clean, safe environment.

What You'll Do

• Maintain the cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of offices, restrooms, break areas, locker rooms, hand wash stations, warehouse spaces, and other common areas throughout the facility.
• Sweep, mop, remove debris, clean spills, sanitize surfaces, wash windows, and perform routine housekeeping tasks according to established schedules and procedures.
• Support food safety, quality, and audit requirements by completing supplemental cleaning and sanitation activities as needed.
• Maintain accurate cleaning records and logs while ensuring cleaning tasks are completed according to company standards.
• Monitor and replenish sanitation and restroom supplies, including soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and other consumables.
• Safely use cleaning chemicals, identify workplace hazards, follow safety protocols, and help maintain a clean and safe work environment.

What You'll Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• No experience required; 3-6 months of janitorial, custodial, or sanitation experience preferred.
• Knowledge of sanitation and janitorial practices, cleaning methods, and safety procedures.
• Strong communication, organization, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team while adapting to changing priorities.
• Sound judgment, a positive attitude, and a strong commitment to safety, cleanliness, and quality standards.

• A full-time schedule of Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with Saturdays as needed. Schedule subject to change based on business needs.
