Job summary

Miller Pipeline is seeking qualified candidates for Operator & Foreman duties to support the repair, maintenance, construction and reconditioning of natural gas distribution pipelines. Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior heavy equipment operating experience.
  • Ability to pass computer-based testing, specific to the local Customer’s operator qualifications.
  • Current driver’s license with good driving record.
  • Current DOT physical or ability to obtain one.
  • Interact effectively and professionally with the public, customers, co-workers, and supervisors.
  • Travel throughout the area and respond to emergency situations.
  • Experience with pipeline or underground utility work.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize and delegate the daily work activities among crew members.
  • Identify potential problems; develop and implement solutions.
  • Enforce Company policies and standard work procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and repair minor equipment problems.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance of equipment is assigned to, and completed by, the crew.
  • Communicate with support staff regarding time worked, safety and productivity measures, accidents and injuries, and property or vehicle damage, for proper handling and tracking of these activities.
  • Handle minor customer complaints and inquiries. Escalate issues to the superintendent or general foreman, if necessary.
  • Ensure that the overall quality of work performed by the crew meets or exceeds standards and expectations.
  • Fasten attachments to tractor with clevis or wedge pin hitches.
  • Connect hydraulic hoses, belts, mechanical linkage, or power takeoff shaft to tractor to provide power to raise, lower, or tilt attachments.
  • Move levers to control tool bars, carriers, and disks.
  • Move levers and depress pedals to maneuver tractor and raise, lower, and tilt attachment to clear right-of-way.
  • Grease, oil, and perform minor repairs on equipment.
  • Assess the area to determine if the utilities were properly located prior to performing the underground work.
  • Review the terrain to determine the best method to perform the job.

We are searching for qualified candidates to perform Operator & Foreman duties, assisting in the repair, maintenance, construction, installation and reconditioning of natural gas distribution pipelines.

Main Responsibilities:

Plan, organize and delegate the daily work activities among crew members.

Identify potential problems; develop and implement solutions.

Enforce Company policies and standard work procedures.

Troubleshoot and repair minor equipment problems.

Ensure preventive maintenance of equipment is assigned to, and completed by, the crew.

Required Qualifications:

Ability topass computer-based testing, specific to the local Customer’s operator qualifications.

Current driver’s license with good driving record.

Travel throughout the area and respond to emergency situations.

Experience withpipeline or underground utilitywork.

Preferred Qualifications:

Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).

3+ years field work experience at Miller Pipeline.
