Description
We are currently looking for a Extrusion Operator at our Griffin, GA location.
Essential Duties and Tasks:
- Ensure all areas are clean, safe, and well maintained.
- Sets-up machine to specifications outlined on the order
- Read orders, select proper resins, and additives.
- Operate extruders at maximum output with minimum scrap generated.
- Sets-up machine to standard set-up time & procedure.
- Operate extruders and resin-handling equipment
- Operates machine to standard production target and waste target.
- Trouble shoots machine when it is down or not performing to standard.
- Assists maintenance with machine repairs and preventive maintenance.
- Responsible for ensuring that the day-to-day operation of the machine is consistent with the policies and procedures which make up the Quality System.
- Continuously improve the process as an individual and as a team member
- Ensures work area is kept clean according to facility/corporate standards.
- Ensures all environmental standards and requirements are met.
- Prepare and update maintenance repairs on GEMBA boards.
- Performs inspections per Quality Procedure
- Update and review GEMBA board with maintenance issues
Skills and Abilities
- Attention to Detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in team environment
- Position requires flexibility to include shift changes and overtime; must be able to work 12-hour rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime, as required
- Forklift Operation
- 2+ years in general warehouse operations
