Job summary

ProAmpac is hiring an Extrusion Operator for our Griffin, GA location. You will set up extrusion lines, select resins and additives, and operate equipment to meet production and quality targets.

The role requires flexibility for 12-hour rotating shifts, weekends and overtime. You will work in a team-oriented environment with emphasis on safety and process improvements, including maintenance support and GEMBA board updates.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in general warehouse operations.
• Forklift operation experience.
• Willingness to work 12-hour rotating shifts, weekends and holidays.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Set up machine to specifications from orders.
• Read orders, select resins and additives.
• Operate extruders at maximum output with minimal scrap.
• Set up machine to standard setup time and procedure.
• Operate resin-handling equipment.
• Meet production targets and waste targets.
• Troubleshoot machines and assist maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with quality procedures and GEMBA board reviews.

Description

We are currently looking for a Extrusion Operator at our Griffin, GA location.

Essential Duties and Tasks:

• Ensure all areas are clean, safe, and well maintained.
• Sets-up machine to specifications outlined on the order
• Read orders, select proper resins, and additives.
• Operate extruders at maximum output with minimum scrap generated.
• Sets-up machine to standard set-up time & procedure.
• Operate extruders and resin-handling equipment
• Operates machine to standard production target and waste target.
• Trouble shoots machine when it is down or not performing to standard.
• Assists maintenance with machine repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Responsible for ensuring that the day-to-day operation of the machine is consistent with the policies and procedures which make up the Quality System.
• Continuously improve the process as an individual and as a team member
• Ensures work area is kept clean according to facility/corporate standards.
• Ensures all environmental standards and requirements are met.
• Prepare and update maintenance repairs on GEMBA boards.
• Performs inspections per Quality Procedure
• Update and review GEMBA board with maintenance issues
