Machine Technician (Entry Level) – Full Time
Pay: $24.40 - $26.00 per hour
Responsibilities
- Follow all safety policies and procedures to ensure personal and environmental safety.
- Use appropriate PPE and communicate hazards to peers and supervisors.
- Comply with BRCGS and GMP standards, reporting any food safety concerns immediately.
- Set up, start, adjust, and shut down extrusion equipment and winding systems.
- Perform material changeovers and assemble production components.
- Adjust machine parameters (heat, water, tension, winder) to maintain quality.
- Assist in R&D trials and troubleshoot mechanical/electrical issues.
- Perform and document regular product quality checks using appropriate tools.
- Read and follow specifications, input production data accurately in systems.
- Collaborate with QA and rerun rejected products when necessary.
- Conduct daily/weekly housekeeping and equipment cleaning.
- Change screens, filters, and safely handle approved cleaning agents.
- Support co‑workers and cover for breaks as needed.
- Train new operators as directed by leadership.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of machine operating experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of extrusion processes.
- Basic math and data entry skills; ability to interpret specifications and measurements.
- Visual attention to detail and ability to distinguish colors and defects.
- Physical capability to stand, climb, reach, lift up to 25 pounds, and perform required tasks for 12‑hour shifts.
- Strong desire, dedication, and determination to succeed by continually improving skills through on‑the‑job training.
- Able to prioritize tasks and work independently under pressure.
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience in an industrial manufacturing environment or related area preferred.
