Job Summary

The Equipment Operator is responsible for operating heavy mobile equipment, including but not limited to front end loaders, backhoe loaders, skid steer loaders, and haul trucks.

Job Responsibilities

1. Perform daily or pre-shift inspections and operate vehicles safely.
2. Operate all mobile and heavy-duty equipment on site (dozers, loaders, haul trucks, etc.).
3. Maintain cleanliness and safety of tools, equipment, and work areas.
4. Follow all safety rules and regulations.
5. Perform related duties such as maintenance, repair, and yard loading as needed.
6. Understand, interpret, and execute verbal and written instructions.
7. Schedule or request repairs and parts.
8. Recognize hazardous situations.
9. Adhere to CEMEX and OSHA safety standards and wear proper safety equipment.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. Minimum of 2 years experience operating heavy equipment.
2. High School diploma or GED.
3. At least 5 years of related experience.
4. Ability to work flexible shifts, overtime, and weekends.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Flexibility in scheduling and overtime.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English; bilingual skills are a plus.

Working Conditions

• Exposure to extreme weather and noise, outdoors.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Wear protective gear at all times.

Physical Requirements

• Perform tasks involving walking, sitting, lifting up to 100 pounds, pushing, pulling, and climbing.
• Communicate effectively using speech and hearing around heavy equipment.
