Southwire Company, LLC is seeking an Operator, Drawing 1 to coordinate and operate drawing machines for copper and aluminum wire production. Candidates should have a high school diploma and the ability to lift heavy loads as this role requires physical stamina.
You will be responsible for making machine adjustments, completing production reports, and maintaining safety and quality standards. This position is vital for ensuring efficient production processes in a dynamic environment.
The Operator, Drawing 1 is a medium skill role that will coordinate, set up, and operate different drawing machines to draw various sizes of copper wire and aluminum from feeder stock. This individual will be responsible for changing coils, bobbins, stems, and setting up the control panel for speed and foot.
Physical activity associated with daily performance of this job includes balance, climbing, fingering, grasping, hearing, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motions, standing, stooping, walking, and sitting. Must be able to work in hot and cold environments normally found in a prefabricated building without climate‑control.
