Job summary

J & H Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Aggregate Pit Equipment Operator to join our production team in Georgia.

You will operate heavy machinery to extract, transport, stockpile, and load aggregate materials, supporting safe and efficient pit operations. The ideal candidate has 2+ years of heavy equipment experience, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work with supervisors and plant personnel to meet daily production goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum of two years of heavy equipment operating experience preferred.
• Experience operating loaders, excavators, dozers, haul trucks, or similar heavy equipment.
• MSHA-regulated mine site experience is preferred but not required; training provided.
• Mechanical aptitude with ability to perform maintenance checks.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate heavy equipment, including wheel loaders, excavators, bulldozers, haul trucks, skid steers, and other equipment as assigned.
• Excavate, load, transport, and stockpile aggregate materials such as sand, gravel, rock.
• Feed crushers, screens, conveyors, and wash plants with raw materials to maintain production.
• Load customer and company trucks accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain stockpiles for proper material separation and inventory management.
• Conduct pre- and post-operation inspections and complete required reports.
• Perform routine maintenance such as fueling, greasing, cleaning, and minor servicing.
• Identify and report mechanical issues or unsafe conditions immediately.
• Assist with pit development, road maintenance, drainage improvements, and site housekeeping.
• Work with supervisors and plant personnel to meet daily production goals.
• Follow all safety policies and MSHA regulations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

J&H Services is seeking an experienced and dependable Aggregate Pit Equipment Operator to join our aggregate production team. This position is responsible for operating heavy equipment to extract, transport, stockpile, and load aggregate materials while supporting the safe and efficient operation of the aggregate pit. The ideal candidate has experience operating heavy equipment in a quarry, aggregate pit, mining, or heavy construction environment and is committed to safety, productivity, and equipment care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Excavate, load, transport, and stockpile aggregate materials, including sand, gravel, rock, and other construction materials.

• Load customer and company trucks accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain stockpiles to ensure proper material separation and inventory management.

Requirements

• Previous experience working on a MSHA-regulated mine site is preferred but not required. J&H Services will provide the required MSHA training for qualified candidates.
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to recognize equipment maintenance needs.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining effective communication with supervisors and coworkers.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
• Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to climb on and off heavy equipment multiple times throughout the day.
• Stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, and climb while performing job duties.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, and dusty environments.
• Ability to work extended hours, overtime, and weekends as production demands require.
