Job summary

Piqua Materials, Inc. is seeking an Aggregate Equipment Operator to join our production team in Ohio. You will operate heavy equipment such as loaders, crushers, screeners, and haul trucks to build high quality stone, gravel and sand products.

This role emphasizes safe, efficient material handling and adherence to quality standards. You will perform pre-shift checks, assist with routine maintenance, and work with plant supervisors and drivers to keep production on track.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience operating heavy equipment.
• Familiarity with loaders, crushers, or screeners preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues.
• Commitment to safety and environmental compliance.
• Valid driver’s license required; equipment certifications are a plus.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment including loaders, crushers, screeners, and haul trucks at aggregate production sites.
• Feed raw material into crushing and screening equipment safely and efficiently.
• Monitor material flow, adjust machine settings, and ensure final product meets quality standards.
• Perform pre-shift inspections, routine equipment maintenance, and report mechanical issues.
• Work in close coordination with plant supervisors, truck drivers, and ground personnel.
• Follow strict safety protocols, company policies, and environmental regulations.
• Assist with general labor tasks such as shoveling, cleanup, and equipment adjustments as needed.

Physical & Mental Demands:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive physical tasks.
• Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather and dusty conditions.
• Long periods of standing, walking, climbing on equipment, and operating machinery.
• Requires strong focus and situational awareness in high-noise, high-traffic environments.
• Ability to navigate tight areas - Rapid emergency egress - Climb ladders - Sit for extended periods of time - Overtime and weekend work may be required based on production needs.
