Operator – 3rd Shift – Starting Pay $18.06

Full‑time

Location: Hillside, NJ

Responsibilities

• Follow GMP’s and safety guidelines, wear PPE, and adhere to all safety rules.
• Determine machine adjustments based on product specifications and material requirements.
• Set stops or guides to specified lengths as indicated by scale, rule, or template.
• Observe machine operation and detect product defects and/or machine malfunctions.
• Identify mechanical issues that could cause machine breakdown or downtime and report them to the supervisor to reduce downtime.
• Record reasons for downtime in the CDC system.
• Stop and reset equipment when malfunctions occur, clear machine jams, and report impairments to the Production Supervisor.
• Perform periodic product sample weight checks to ensure proper fill weight and adherence to customer standards.
• Replace and replenish containers of product to be filled and packaging supplies such as film, laminate, and mount rolls on spindles.
• Complete documentation required for product quality assurance.
• Perform changeovers and minor machine maintenance and adjustments as required; communicate with maintenance personnel for more extensive maintenance.
• Assist mechanics during preventive maintenance and machine service or repairs following proper lockout/tag‑out procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• Experience operating in a fast‑paced, ready‑to‑eat food facility is a plus.
• Self‑guided and motivated to operate independently.
• Ability to work well under pressure.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb stairs, bend, kneel, stand for extended periods, work in confined spaces, and work at heights.

Sensory Requirements

Ability to hear, see, speak, smell, and touch well is necessary to perform basic essential tasks.
