Barry Callebaut Manufacturing Iberica SA. is seeking an Operator 3, Machine Liquid - Utility in St. Albans. The role covers all phases of transforming raw materials into finished chocolate products with a 20% shift differential.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, strong communication skills, and at least 2 years in food manufacturing. The position requires standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and comfortable working under varying temperatures.

Qualifications

• Must lead a small team with effective delegation and collaboration.
• Strong written and verbal communication required.
• Proficient in basic math for production calculations.
• Basic computer knowledge and SAP data entry experience preferred.
• Quality/Sensory training and Chocolate Manufacturing knowledge are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform Operator 2 and 3 duties for Liquid – Mixer/Refiner and Coating.
• Adjust processing temperatures and fineness per recipe and specs.
• Add raw materials per recipes and verify viscosity.
• Enter production data and schedule into SAP.
• Lead small team projects and provide shift coverage as needed.
• Train Level 2 and Level 3 Operators.

About the role:

The Operator 3, Machine Liquid - Utility is responsible for all phases of transforming raw materials into finished product.

SHIFT HOURS:

Thursday 1:00am - 7:15am and Thursday Friday and Saturday 7:00am - 7:15pm.

SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL:

20% hourly rate

• Perform the duties of an Operator 2, Machine Liquid – Mixer & Refiner
• Perform the duties of an Operator 3, Machine Liquid – Coating
• Adjust pre-refiner/refiner and conch temperatures and product fineness according to recipe and customer specifications
• Manually add raw materials like powders, fat, flavors and emulsifiers in different parts of the process according to recipes
• Verify viscosity of finished product and adjust as needed
• Enter recipe data according to production schedule
• Record raw material incoming number on production order sheet
• Enters performance confirmations and shift information into SAP
• Pump product from conches to finished/vertical tanks according to production schedule
• Conduct basic and preventative maintenance, report improvements as needed
• Sample finished products
• Requesting and transferring raw materials from storage silo to daily bin
• Lead small team projects
• Break coverage
• PTO coverage
• Train level 2 and level 3 Machine Operators

About you:

• High school diploma or GED
• Excellent communication skills both written and oral
• Ability to lead a small team through soft skills (delegation, teamwork, problem solving)
• Math skills, required (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
• Minimum two (2) years food manufacturing experience, required
• Basic computer knowledge, required
• Trained in Quality/Sensory, preferred
• Trained in Chocolate Manufacturing, preferred
• Ability to stand on concrete floor for long periods of time
• Bend, squat, stretch, reach: frequently
• Ability to climb stairs, often
• Must be able to lift minimum of 50lbs, often
• Comfortable working at heights
• Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures in the facility
• Noise level can exceed 0.85 decibels
