Job summary

Mars Petcare (Nutro) in Kansas City, MO, seeks an Operator 2 to safely operate high-speed packaging and conversion equipment. You will perform changeovers, drive basic maintenance tasks, and ensure product quality and food safety across multiple lines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Mechanical aptitude, analytical troubleshooting and basic computer skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication with team collaboration.
• Reliability, punctuality and safety-first mindset.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Military experience operating equipment or PMCS is recognized as qualifying background.

Responsibilities

• Operate high-speed manufacturing, packaging, and conversion equipment to package finished pet food products safely and efficiently.
• Perform real-time troubleshooting, clear jams, reset faults, and conduct equipment changeovers.
• Complete autonomous maintenance and basic preventive maintenance routines (CIL checks).
• Adhere to GMPs, HACCP, and Quality & Food Safety policies.
• Log product quality attributes and process parameters in digital logs.
• Comply with safety regulations and PPE requirements; report hazards.
• Conduct sanitation and 5S activities to maintain a clean, audit-ready area.
• Manage in-process inventory and raw material staging for lines.
• Provide coaching to team members and temporary staff on standards and safety.
