Job summary

Mars Petcare is seeking an Operator 2 for its Nutro business at our Kansas City, MO manufacturing plant. The role emphasizes safe, efficient production, change-overs, quality checks, and strict adherence to GMP and HACCP standards to deliver high quality pet food.

You will work night shifts and rely on strong communication and teamwork as you support continuous improvement, inventory control, sanitation, and on-the-spot problem solving to ensure on-time packaging for customers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Effective analytical, troubleshooting, and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment to complete the conversion process and package the finished product prior to shipping to our customers.
• Conduct problem-solving and troubleshooting as necessary.
• Load packaged material, clear jams, reset faults, conduct change-overs, quality checks, reporting issues, and maintaining area GMP’s.
• Complete basic preventative maintenance work as assigned (CIL’s).
• Ensure quality & food safety procedural conformance.
• Wear required PPE and report any safety hazards immediately.
• Communicate accurate and timely information using computer technology.
• Work self-directed with a positive attitude; reliable, punctual, and strong work ethic.
• Conduct sanitation activities as required.
• Manage inventory throughout the production process.
• Provide informal leadership to temporary associates throughout the production process.
