Job summary

Methode Electronics, Inc. is seeking a skilled machine operator to set up and run production lines in our Rolling Meadows, IL facility.

You will perform first-time equipment setup for new products through programming and adjustments, operate machinery to meet production targets, and inspect output for quality standards. The role requires a high school diploma or GED and 1–2+ years of experience, or equivalent training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2+ years of experience setting up and operating machines, or possible zero years with training.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints or drawings.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Set up and change over machines to meet product specs.
• Perform first time set-up for new products through programming and adjustments.
• Operate equipment to meet production and quality goals; make minor output adjustments.
• Perform manual operations such as labeling and loading/unloading equipment.
• Visually inspect output to ensure workmanship meets standards.
• Perform routine maintenance as per manuals or work instructions.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and follow safety rules.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job description

Position Responsibilities:

• Perform machine set-up/changeover to produce the required product or components by making mechanical adjustments to meet product specifications.
• Perform first time set-up of equipment for new products through programming, profiling, and mechanical/ software adjustments.
• Operate equipment to achieve production requirements and quality goals. Make minor adjustments to correct machine output as needed.
• Perform manual production operations as required, e.g., apply labels, place components, load and unload equipment.
• Visually inspect machine output to verify proper assembly and workmanship standards are being met.
• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance activities in accordance with machine operation manual or maintenance work instruction.
• Maintain neat and orderly work areas and comply with all safety rules
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required
• 1-2+ years of experience setting up and operating machines, or may need 0 years of experience with additional specialized training and/or certification
• Must have ability to read and interpret blueprints or drawings
• Ability to read, write, and speak English

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
