Job summary

Camp.us is seeking a General Operator in Ohio to assist foremen and crews with the installation and repair of pipeline and live natural gas lines. You will operate and maintain equipment at job sites and help set up and tear down work zones.

Responsibilities include maintaining a safe work area, loading and unloading materials, and ensuring accuracy in safety, quality, and production. Travel to various sites is routine.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma is required.
  • Ability to work in English at jobsite safety.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy materials up to 50 pounds.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.

About the Role

The General Operator is responsible for assisting foreman and work crews, regularly operating and maintain equipment on assigned job sites. Responsible for the installation and or repair of pipeline, live natural gas lines. Etc.

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

Essential Functions
  • Ability to perform manual and skilled labor safely and correctly.
  • Ability to regularly operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Assists with setting up and tearing down work zones as needed.
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe work zone and representing the company in a professional and courteous manner to the general public and our customers.
  • Accountable to ensure accuracy related to tasks and follow all policies and procedures related to safety, quality, and production.
  • Loads and unloads equipment and materials.
  • Keeps the worksite clean and organized, free from unnecessary hazards.
  • Responsible for properly caring for the equipment assigned to them.
  • Maintains a safety-first culture and actively participates in safety training.
  • Additional duties as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Understanding of English as associated with the jobsite safety and the typical duties required of this position.
  • Basic understanding of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to solve conflict, create team atmosphere, dependable, and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy materials, tools, and equipment (up to 50 pounds or more).
  • Endurance to perform physical tasks throughout the workday, including bending, stooping, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Physical ability to lift 50 pounds.
Some operator roles require:
  • Valid driver’s license. Ideal candidates will have Class A CDL. Note: Must have satisfactory MVR to be permitted to operate a company vehicle.
  • Successful completion of basic safety and flagger training.
  • Successful completion of Operator Qualification and training on a job-to-job basis.
  • Must pass pre-employment and random drug & alcohol testing.
  • 2+ years’ experience with heavy equipment, primarily excavator and skid steer.
  • Medical Examiner’s Certificate - a reimbursable requirement to operate a company DOT regulated vehicle.
  • Preference will be given to individuals qualified for all measures of applying and repairing above and below ground coatings.
  • Preference will be given to individuals who safely operate heavy equipment on a regular basis.
  • Basic rigging and civil/carpentry skills are preferred.
  • THIS POSITION REQUIRES TRAVEL ON A ROUTINE BASIS.
