Job summary

Jobtailor in the United States seeks a Mill Operator focused on safety, quality, and TPM-driven performance. You will maintain clean, safe, organized work areas (5S) and coordinate daily and weekly activities with supervision to keep the mill running smoothly.

You will perform visual and manual quality checks, minimize scrap, and collaborate with maintenance to resolve issues promptly. Strong communication and teamwork are essential to adapt to schedule changes and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent is required.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and ability to read setup charts from OEMs.
  • Experience using micrometers, calipers, and tape measures for QA checks.
  • Ability to document downtime and drive KPI tracking.
  • Strong communication to ensure continuous mill flow.

Job description

  • Focus on the keeping the mill operational
  • Maintain clean, safe ,organized work area, 5S
  • Cross Training of team members on parts programming and mill set ups
  • TPM of process and equipment in the area
  • Coordinate daily and weekly activities with department supervisor
  • Perform visual and manual quality checks of finished products.

  • Work with maintenance hands on to get issues resolved in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Good mechanical aptitude
  • Experience in using special measuring devices, micrometer, calipers, tape measure
  • Must be able to read set up charts supplied by OEM and interpret them to roll tooling adjustments.
  • Change out cut off jaws, blades, and refill oil levels of equipment
  • Demonstrate ability to meet negotiated time frames of scheduling
  • Must be able to document down time through seamless reporting system to drive KPI tracking
  • Good communication skills with coworkers to insure continuous flow of the mill and material handler for proper tagging of product
  • Ability to think and react to schedule changes and conditions on the mill
  • Ability to be a contributing and valued team member for continuous improvement activities.
