Job summary

PVS DX, Inc. is seeking a Production Operator to support warehousing, packaging, and the compressed gas filling process in our Houston area facility. You will perform filling, inspection, sealing, tagging and related tasks for cylinders and ton containers.

The ideal candidate has a High School diploma, 1–2 years in production, and the ability to work overtime on rotating schedules. Safety training, equipment maintenance, and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years stable work experience, preferably in production.
• Willingness to work overtime on a rotating schedule and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Fill compressed gas cylinders and ton containers, including evacuation, cleaning, inspection, testing, painting, valve replacement and tagging.
• Load and unload trucks and trailers, including tankers.
• Complete filling logs and plant reports.
• Connect and disconnect railcars.
• Manufacture bleach.
• Analyze product samples.
• Perform minor maintenance on equipment or piping.
• Attend safety and training classes; assist with housekeeping.
• Visually inspect cylinders and removable components; participate in Emergency Response Team if needed.

Job description

Operations provides warehousing, packaging, transportation, bleach manufacture, and office support functions for the district or Company. The operator performs various functions in the compressed gas filling process.

Performs all tasks associated with the filling of compressed gas cylinders and/or ton containers, such as evacuating, cleaning, inspecting, testing, painting, replacing valves, filling, and tagging.

• Performs all tasks associated with the filling of compressed gas cylinders and/or ton containers, such as evacuating, cleaning, inspecting, testing, painting, replacing valves, filling, and tagging.
• Loads and unloads trucks and trailers, including tankers.
• Completes filling logs and other plant reports.
• Connects and disconnects railcars.

• Analyzes product samples.
• Performs minor maintenance tasks on equipment or piping.
• Attends safety and training classes.
• Assists with general plant housekeeping.
• Visually inspects cylinders and ton containers and their removable components
• Required to be a part of the Emergency Response Team when requested

Other duties as assigned. May be required to perform any or all of the previous job tasks, depending upon the organization and size of the plant.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent

Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One to Two years of stable work experience, preferably in a production environment
• Ability to work overtime & a rotating schedule (additional hours, holidays and weekends based on business needs) Required
• Pre-employment testing, drug screen and physical exam Required
• Reliable transportation
• Must be able to physically maneuver up to 50 lbs independently and 100 lbs with assistance (e.g., a two-person lift or mechanical aid). Required
• Stable employment history Required
