Position Overview

The Plant Production Operator is responsible for the safe operation of processing equipment and heavy machinery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and adjust plant equipment to ensure the product is consistent and free from quality defects .
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment settings and product quality information.
  • Follow established equipment operating guidelines and recognize issues as they arise.
  • Communicate with supervisors and team members effectively.
  • Operate wheel loader and forklift equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Report on condition and items in need of maintenance.
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures while performing tasks, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Qualifications
Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
  • Previous experience in plant or industrial manufacturing operations or other related fields.
  • Loader and forklift experience preferred.
Skills
  • Familiarity with basic tools and equipment.
  • Adept at handling complex machinery.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to handle a physical workload and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in an environment with dust and noise, and around equipment with higher than ambient temperatures.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, crawl, bend, and climb ladders for extended periods.
