Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services is hiring for an assembling rigging role in Texas. You will lift and move equipment to construction sites, load and secure materials, and coordinate with crane operators to ensure safe handling.

The job requires following precise safety guidelines and the ability to work under supervision. Applicants should be prepared for hands-on tasks and routine equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and field experience as needed.
• Knowledge of commonly used concepts and procedures in the field.
• Follows instructions and pre-established guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Loads, transports, unloads and assists in selecting cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks and sheaves according to weight and size of load to be moved.
• Attaches pulley and blocks to fixed overhead structures with bolts and clamps.
• Attaches load with grappling devices to crane hook.
• Gives direction to crane operator or hoisting engineer to ensure safety of workers and material handled.
• Sets up braces and rigs hoisting equipment using hand tools and power wrenches.
• Has ability to tie various knots.
• Assembles and disassembles cranes.
• Splices rope and wire cables to make or repair slings or tackle.
• Directs workers engaged in hoisting of machinery onto/off ships, railroad, cars or trucks.
• Performs minor maintenance or cleaning of tools and equipment.
• Observes all safety rules.
• Performs other duties as required.
