Brown & Root Industrial Services is seeking a Leadman to supervise and guide craft workers in crane rigging on construction sites in Louisiana. You will lead the crew and support the Foreman in coordination and safety.

The role requires knowledge of rigging techniques, hand signals, and the ability to plan and select proper tools for lifting operations on site.

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent with related field experience.
• Knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures in the field.
• Follows instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform duties.
• Works under immediate supervision.
• Generally reports to a supervisor or manager.

Mansioni

• Loads, transports, unloads and selects cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks and sheaves according to load.
• Attaches pulley and blocks to fixed overhead structures with bolts/clamps.
• Attaches load with grappling devices to crane hook.
• Directs crane operator using hand signals or radio for safe hoisting.
• Sets up braces and rigs hoisting equipment with hand tools and power wrenches.
• Ties knots and assembles/disassembles cranes as needed.
• Directs workers during hoisting of machinery onto/off ships, railcars, or trucks.
• Performs maintenance or cleaning of tools and equipment.
• Observes safety rules and performs other duties as required.

Job Requirements

Leadman - Provides leadership, instruction, and guidance to other craft workers in work crew, providing assistance to Foreman, while working in the capacity of a journeyman.

Summary

Assembles rigging to lift and move equipment or material to construction project.

Responsibilities

• Loads, transports, unloads and assists in selecting cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks and sheaves, according to weight and size of load to be moved.
• Attaches pulley and blocks to fixed overhead structures, such as beams, ceilings and gin pole booms with bolts and clamps.
• Attaches load with grappling devices such as loops, wires, ropes and chains to crane hook.
• Gives direction to crane operator or hoisting engineer engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure safety of workers and material handled using hand signals, loudspeaker, two-way radio or telephone.
• Sets up braces and rigs hoisting equipment using hand tools and power wrenches.
• Has ability to tie various knots.
• Assembles and disassembles cranes.
• Splices rope and wire cables to make or repair slings or tackle.
• May direct workers engaged in hoisting of machinery and equipment onto or off ships, railroad, cars or trucks.
• Performs minor maintenance or cleaning activities of tools and equipment.
• Responsible for observing all safety rules. Performs other duties as required.
