Job summary

Magna Powertrain in Indiana is seeking a Training and Development professional to lead and coordinate the company-wide training agenda. You will assess learning needs, design programs, and ensure alignment with safety and operational goals.

This role emphasizes hands-on e-learning, on-the-job training, and apprenticeship oversight, requiring strong communication and leadership to foster a compliant, skilled workforce across the organization.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor degree in education, training, human resources, or related field.
• Experience coordinating and managing multiple training events from start to finish.
• Knowledge of traditional and contemporary training methods to engage diverse learning styles and needs.
• Hands-on experience with e-learning platforms, enhancing remote learning opportunities and technology integration.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) to support training activities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement annual training plans across all functions, with a primary focus on Operations.
• Design and create tailored training programs (both outsourced and in-house) to meet the unique needs of the organization.
• Select and implement appropriate training methods and activities to maximize learning outcomes.
• Promote available training opportunities to employees and provide essential information about upcoming sessions.
• Conduct organization-wide training needs assessments to identify skill and knowledge gaps, and develop strategies to address them.
• Apply educational principles and stay current with emerging training methods and best practices.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and assess impact on skills and KPIs.
• Maintain an up-to-date training curriculum database and comprehensive training records for all employees.
• Facilitate train-the-trainer sessions for internal subject matter experts.
• Design, implement, and oversee safety and professional development training programs, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Review equipment SOPs, technical specs, and hazards to incorporate relevant safety content.
• Conduct comprehensive safety and training orientations covering OSHA and other requirements.
• Oversee Apprenticeship program, ensuring compliance and proper documentation.
• Perform additional duties to support the training department.
