Job summary

The Jackson Laboratory in Ellsworth, Maine is hiring Full-Time Operations Trainee positions. No prior experience is required, and training is provided.

Trainees will participate in acquisition, sanitation, distribution, and minor maintenance of equipment and supplies for animal facility operations, under direct supervision. This is a physical role; candidates should be comfortable on their feet, able to lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to maintain accurate records.
• Ability to learn sanitation methods for health of mice.
• Ability to read safety rules and operating instructions.
• Work well in a fast-paced environment as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operates tunnel washers, bottle washing machines, decapping machines and rack washers.
• Sanitizes soiled supplies and equipment into the CSA.
• Organizes floor area receiving soiled materials and equipment.
• Performs maintenance on pallets.
• Complies with safety procedures and policies.
• Quality control of materials and equipment to ensure standards.
