Job summary

The Jackson Laboratory, Sacramento campus, is hiring Animal Care Trainees for a full-time role in a clean-room environment. Start with a 12-week paid training program and learn mouse husbandry, genetics, and daily care tasks.

Earn $21.50 per hour with scheduled pay increases and tuition reimbursement for career growth. Benefits include medical plan, retirement plan, paid time off, and on-site wellness programs. OT may be required.

Qualifications

• Must have HS diploma or GED and prior work experience.
• References, background check, and pre-employment physical required.
• Candidates must be able to lift 25 pounds.
• Open availability including weekends and holidays; OT may be required.

Responsibilities

• New team members undergo a 12-week paid training program with classroom and on-the-job training.
• Learn all aspects of mouse husbandry and animal science and genetics.
• Employees will learn to maintain JAX mice and monitor animal health and welfare.
• Maintain a sanitary environment.
• Prepare animals for shipping.
• Accurately record detailed and organized data.
