Job description

About The Role

Responsible for all aspects of Project Management within the Operations Technology (OT) and Energy Management System (EMS) departments. This will include but is not limited to OT Infrastructure Projects and software implementations. Additional projects may include managing technology projects related to office relocations or other project-oriented tasks or missions.

Responsibilities
What you will do
Project Management
  • Develop comprehensive project plans including key governing documents such as Project Charters, Scope definitions, reports, and Statements of Work (SOW).
  • Assess and communicate the impact of project risks across individual projects and the broader portfolio, ensuring informed decision-making at all levels.
  • Build, maintain, and adjust project timelines and milestones to keep deliverables on track within committed timeframes.
  • Conduct actual vs. planned cost analysis at the project level; forecast, monitor, and report on project spend throughout the lifecycle.
  • Manage end-to-end project deliverables, aligning task timelines with actual deadlines and proactively addressing gaps.
  • Identify, document, and manage project risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies to minimize disruption and maintain forward momentum.
  • Serve as Project Controller in OT and EMS project meetings, providing oversight, structure, and accountability.
  • Lead infrastructure projects including storage implementations and upgrades, network upgrades, and Identity/Privileged Access Management (IAM/PAM) deployments.
Project Resource Management
  • Understand how resource assignments, timelines, risk assessments, and milestones interrelate — both within individual projects and across the broader project portfolio — to anticipate impacts and keep work aligned.
  • Facilitate and participate in meetings with technical and non-technical stakeholders to capture requirements, define milestones, communicate timelines, track action items, and monitor overall project health.
  • Monitor daily project progression to detect early deviations from the plan, resolve conflicts proactively, and prevent minor issues from escalating into significant schedule or scope impacts.
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders across the organization, including those outside the immediate department, to ensure alignment and clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Uphold the integrity of the original Project Charter and SOW, actively identifying and managing scope creep before it affects delivery.
Project Reporting
  • Develop, compile, and distribute standardized project portfolio reports on a weekly and biweekly cadence, serving as the go-to resource for stakeholder questions and reporting inquiries.
  • Manage a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects spanning both hardware and software initiatives, ensuring consistent oversight and delivery across all workstreams.
  • Monitor and manage project resource allocation, identifying over- and underutilization and rebalancing assignments to maintain team efficiency and project momentum.
  • Develop and maintain project metrics and reporting frameworks that provide clear, timely visibility into portfolio performance.
  • Produce cost reports that track and communicate budgeted vs. actual expenses, enabling informed financial decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.
Beyond the PM
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of key technical domains — including servers, storage, networking, Telco, and applications — to credibly engage in project discussions and bridge communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Own meeting administration end-to-end: prepare and distribute agendas in advance, capture meeting notes, and ensure timely follow-up on all action items.
  • Roll up your sleeves when the project calls for it — participate in the physical delivery of services including unpacking, installation, build-out, and configuration of workstations, servers, and other equipment.
  • Travel to remote sites as needed to provide hands‑on, in‑person project oversight and support.
  • Our team operates in a lean, hands‑on environment where PMs are expected to contribute beyond coordination.
Qualifications
  • Bring 8+ years of experience managing IT or OT projects across Waterfall, Agile, or hybrid environments.
  • Have a strong track record of delivering large-scale infrastructure projects on time and within scope.
  • Are comfortable building and owning key project artifacts such as charters, schedules, and communication plans.
  • Can successfully manage multiple high‑visibility projects at once, balancing internal teams and external vendors.
  • Take a proactive approach to identifying, assessing, and mitigating risk throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Have a solid understanding of project management processes, controls, and best practices.
  • Are interested in learning and working within a regulated utility environment, including frameworks like FERC and NERC CIP.
  • Are proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable using project and productivity tools to stay organized.
  • Communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively to a variety of audiences.
  • Hold (or are working toward) a PMP, ITIL, or similar certification.
Benefits

We provide our team with the opportunity to share their unique perspectives, solve new challenges, and continue in their career growth. We are committed to supporting employees' happiness, healthiness, and overall well-being by providing comprehensive benefits that include 100% employer paid premium healthcare, paid parental leave and more.
