Job summary

South Jersey Gas is hiring in New Jersey for a Street/Utility role. This position handles core utility work including customer service, meter and gas regulator installations, leak investigations, emergency responses, and distribution mains maintenance.

Flexible shifts (8 or 10 hours) apply; qualifying rate is $22.75 per hour. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, a valid NJ driver's license, pass a hands-on pre-employment assessment, and meet DOT requirements.

Responsibilities

• Completing all phases of core utility work regarding customer service and meter and gas pressure regulator installations.
• Conducting leak investigations and responding to emergencies of any nature.
• Installing, repairing, and maintaining distribution mains and services.
• Operating mechanical equipment.
• Other duties as defined by the CBA for the Street/Utility Job Family.

Position Summary

• Days & Hours: Depending on work function, must be flexible to work 8 or 10-hour shifts as assigned.
• Qualifying Rate - $22.75

Required Skills

• Must be available for standby responsibilities and emergency work when required.
• This is a DOT-covered position and will be subject to random drug screening.

Compensation Range

Step 1 - 22.75 USD
