Job summary

South Jersey Gas is hiring for a DOT-covered street/utility position in New Jersey. The role involves responding to emergencies, installing and maintaining gas distribution mains, and performing leak investigations.

Flexibility to work 8- or 10-hour shifts is required, as is a valid NJ driver’s license. The job offers a pay rate of 22.75 USD per hour, opportunity for stand-by and emergency duties, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Applicants must pass pre-employment mechanical aptitude testing.
• A valid NJ Driver's License is required.

Responsibilities

• Complete all phases of core utility work including customer service and meter and gas pressure regulator installations.
• Conduct leak investigations and respond to emergencies of any nature.
• Install, repair, and maintain distribution mains and services.
• Operate mechanical equipment.
• Other duties as defined by the CBA for the Street/Utility Job Family.

Days & Hours: Depending on work function, must be flexible to work 8 or 10-hour shifts as assigned.
