Job summary

South Jersey Gas, a property of South Jersey Industries, seeks personnel for utility field work including meter installations, regulator service, and leak investigations. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid NJ driver’s license, and readiness for standby and emergency assignments.

DOT drug screening applies, and work locations may vary by CBA language. Compensation includes step-based pay with a base rate around 22.75 USD per hour plus benefits.

• Operate mechanical equipment.
• Other duties as defined by the CBA for the Street/Utility Job Family.

Position Summary Job Description

Days & Hours: Depending on work function, must be flexible to work 8 or 10-hour shifts as assigned. Local 1293- Pay Rate- $22.75

Essential Functions:

• Completing all phases of core utility work regarding customer service and meter and gas pressure regulator installations

• All applicants must pass pre-employment mechanical aptitude testing
• A valid NJ Driver's License
• Required Skills: Must be available for standby responsibilities and emergency work when required
• This is a DOT-covered position and will be subject to random drug screening
