Job summary

Landus is seeking a hands-on individual to join our team in Rockwell City, IA, supporting outside agronomy and grain operations. You will greet customers, assist with grain handling, storage, and fertilizer/chemical operations, and help maintain a safe, clean facility.

The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds (100 pounds occasionally), a valid driver’s license, and a GED or high school diploma. CDL with endorsements is a plus, along with basic computer skills and a willingness to work seasonal

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Able to move/lift up to 50 pounds; occasionally up to 100 pounds.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Understand the seasonality of an agricultural cooperative and the in-season time commitment.

Responsibilities

• Greet all customers promptly and courteously.
• Maintain and increase agronomy and feed sales, grain origination and marketing with existing customers and grow business with new customers.
• Assist in elevator operations and grain receiving/unloading.
• Grain drying operations and measuring grain inventory on a weekly/monthly basis.
• Grain train loading operations including cleaning and sealing cars.
• Keep facility clean, safe and housekeeping records current.
• Maintain grain condition by testing temperatures and blending.
• Assist in fertilizer and chemical operations as applicable to location.
• Measure inventory and report to supervisor.
• Unloading bulk and packaged product; loading chemical orders.
• Maintain and repair equipment; pump bulk chemicals into customer tanks.
• Tender to applicators; fill NH3 nurse tanks during season.
• Understand basic agronomy chemistry of all products.

• Maintain grain condition by testing temperatures and blending.
• Assist in all aspects of the fertilizer and chemical operations, if applicable to location.
• Measure inventory and report it to the supervisor.
• Assist in unloading bulk and packaged product.
• Provide customer service by and loading chemical product orders.
• Maintain and repair equipment as needed.
• Pumping bulk chemicals into customer tanks.
• Tender to applicators.
• Fill NH3 nurse tanks during season.
• Understand basic agronomy chemistry of all products.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to move/lift up to 50 pounds; occasionally up to 100 pounds.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Understand the seasonality of an agricultural cooperative and the in-season time commitment.

Other skills that will help you succeed:

• Be able to obtain a Class A CDL with air brake, tanker, and HazMat endorsements.
• Participate in company DOT drug and alcohol program and maintain current DOT physical.
• Good computer skills.
